Correspondence from the path

Some of the most meaningful moments on this blog happen off the page — in letters from readers who share their own chapters.

Before this site existed, I kept a folder of emails from friends who had moved cities or changed careers. Their messages were longer than texts, more honest than social posts, and written without an audience in mind. When I started My Path My Story, I hoped readers might write back in the same spirit. They have.

Letters arrive from Singapore and from much farther away — from people who recognise a feeling in a chapter, who disagree gently with something I wrote, or who simply want to describe their own morning ritual without asking for anything in return. I read every letter. I reply to most, though not always quickly. Good correspondence takes the time it takes.

Occasionally, with a writer's permission, I publish a response as a short piece on this site. Those responses are never exposé — they are conversations continued in public, with names and identifying details removed or changed. The point is not to perform intimacy. It is to show that these journeys are shared, even when the details differ.

If you would like to write, use the Contact page or email me directly at hello@mypathmystory.life. Tell me where you are writing from, what chapter you are in, and what you would like me to know. Length is up to you. A paragraph is enough. Several pages is also welcome.

What makes a good letter

You do not need a question. You do not need perfect grammar. You do not need to agree with anything I have written. The letters I remember most are specific — a bus route, a parent's advice, the smell of a hawker stall at closing time. Specificity travels. Write what is true for you.
